Cheap Date Ideas

Are you looking for cheap date ideas? If so, we have a treat for you. We will discuss a variety of affordable date ideas that will help you and your significant other have a good time without breaking the bank. From outdoor activities to indoor activities, we have got you covered.

10 Outdoor Date Ideas

If you and your partner are the outdoorsy types, there are plenty of dating ideas that will get your adrenaline pumping.

1. Go Stargazing

If you’re looking for cheap date night ideas that are also romantic, find a spot away from the city lights and go stargazing together. All you need is a dark spot with no light pollution and some snacks to keep you going.

Once the sun goes down, take in the beauty of the stars above while chatting and getting to know each other better.

2. Plan a Treasure Hunt

If you want to add some excitement to your relationship, you should try treasure hunting. For example, if you have a rare Jefferson nickel, you can hide it and leave clues around the house or even around town for your partner to find.

3. Play Paintball

If you’re looking for fun and cheap date ideas to make your heart pump, paintballing is the perfect option. You’ll be dodging bullets (or paintballs) and ducking for cover all night long – and neither of you will ever forget it.

Paintballs usually cost between $15 and $30 for a bag of 500 or between $50 and $75 for a case of 2000.

4. Go to a Drive-In Movie Theater

One of the more classic and cute cheap date ideas is to visit a drive-in movie theater. They’re not just for kids anymore! A lot of theaters have converted to digital projectors. All you need is a car and some snacks.

Admission is usually under $10, and if you get there early enough, you can snag a spot right on the lawn.

5. Go Bike-Riding

This is a great way to get some exercise and explore your area together. You can even make it a competition to see who can ride the farthest.

6. See a Psychic

When it comes to finding cheap and fun date ideas, seeing a psychic is always a winner. You can usually find them for just a few bucks, and it’s always entertaining to see what they have to say.

Plus, it’s the perfect opportunity to test out your compatibility with your date. Do you share the same sense of humor? Are you both open-minded? Seeing a psychic is the perfect way to find out.

7. Try Roller Skating

This is a great way to relive your childhood and have some fun together. Just be careful not to fall!

8. Go on a Ghost Tour

There are so many cheap first date ideas out there, but sometimes they can be too cheesy. Why not try something a little spookier instead? I.e., go on a ghost tour! It’s sure to get your heart racing, and it’s a lot of fun.

Plus, you can impress your date by knowing all about the local ghosts.

9. Have a Trivia Night

When it comes to finding cheap cute date ideas, there’s nothing quite like trivia night. You can find these events at pubs, bars, and even some restaurants.

This way, you will test your knowledge of random facts while spending time together and enjoying a few laughs.

10. Visit an Escape Room

If you’re stuck on ideas, why not try an escape room? This is a great way to test your teamwork and see if you can solve the puzzles together.

Escape rooms are pretty cheap. You can usually find one for around $25 per person. And if you’re feeling adventurous, some places offer overnight escape room experiences.

10 Indoor Date Ideas

If you’re not an outdoorsy person or if the weather isn’t cooperating, there are plenty of cheap date night ideas to try at home.

1. Play Video or Board Games

There are tons of great games that you can play with your partner. You can also challenge your date to some old-school games.

For example, see who can rack up the highest score on Pac-Man or Donkey Kong. Or take things down a notch with some classic board games like Sorry! or Clue.

2. Binge Watch

Looking for cheap date ideas during Covid? Why not try binge-watching your favorite show. The best part is that it’s affordable too! You can get a whole bunch of movies or TV shows for next to nothing. All you need is a comfy couch, some snacks, and your date is good to go.

3. Listen to Old Records

There’s something about listening to old records or tapes that takes you back in time. It’s like a trip down memory lane without all the hassle of actually having to go anywhere. Plus, it’s a great way to save money on dates.

4. Create a Recipe Together

One of our favorite cheap anniversary date ideas is cooking together. You can find plenty of recipes online that are both easy and affordable. Or you could check out your local library for cookbooks with interesting recipes.

Cooking together is a great way to spend time together, and you’ll get to eat something delicious too!

5. Go Hallway Bowling

It’s a great way to get your heart rate up and have fun with your date. And if you’re feeling competitive, you can always make things more interesting by adding in some obstacles along the way.

6. Build a Blanket Fort

Are you looking for cheap date ideas during winter? Why not get cozy with your partner and build a blanket fort? All you need is some sheets, blankets, and pillows, and you can create your own little world inside your living room!

7. Make a Scrapbook

Not everything is about money. Memories are much more important. So if you want to have a memorable date with your significant other, make a scrapbook together. Just grab some photos of you and your date, plus any other mementos you want to include, and get creative.

8. Do Couples’ Yoga

Want to find cheap romantic date ideas? Try couples yoga. Couples’ yoga is helping each other do poses. This way, you can stay in balance and have good posture. Doing this will also improve your communication and trust.

9. Blind Taste Test

This is a great way to bond with your partner, eat something nice, test your taste buds, and have a lot of fun. You can try out different stuff, like 4 brands of tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, pretzel sticks, or even hot dogs.

10. Karaoke Night

While there are a lot of cheap or free date ideas, our personal favorite is karaoke. It’s a great way to show off your vocal skills (or lack thereof).

Break out the old karaoke machine or download a karaoke app and take turns belting out your favorite tunes. Bonus points for embarrassing performances!

Bonus Date Ideas

1. Grow Something Together

This is a great way to bond with your partner and it’s also very cheap. You can start a garden together or even just grow some plants in pots.

2. Test Drive an Expensive Car

If you’re both car enthusiasts, this can be a fun date. Just make sure you don’t actually buy the car with your debit card!

3. Have a Wine and Cheese Night

One of our favorite cheap winter date ideas. You can get cozy on the couch and chat about your day or your plans for the future. Plus, it’s a great way to test each other’s wine palates and find new favorite wines. Cheers!

Conclusion

Whether you’re looking for a romantic night out or just something different to do, we hope you find these suggestions helpful. And don’t forget, if all else fails and money is tight, stay in and cook up a delicious meal together – home-cooked dates always win points.
