What is the minimum amount of cash that you need to be satisfied? Based on one poll, the ideal income for North Americans is $105,000. However, not everyone feels the same way.
Namely, 51% would be satisfied if they earned at least $65,000 per year, whereas 39% would be happy if they made less than the median average, i.e., $50,000.
At the same time, the proportion of Americans pleased with earning a given salary limit rose as the wage went up.
On that note, 61% of respondents would be content with a maximum payout of $75,000, and 71% would be happy with $90,000.
Next, 78% would be happy with a maximum payout of $100,000, and 81% would be satisfied with $115,000.
Although women get lower salaries than men, they are more dissatisfied with maximum salary limits. For example, only 35% of women would agree to the $50,000 salary limit, compared to 45% of men.
Not surprisingly, the findings suggest that individuals from states with lower living costs would be more satisfied with lower maximum salaries than people from states with higher costs of living.
When it comes to states, Mississippi has the lowest satisfaction limit. In other words, the required income to be content in Mississippi is $87,465. In comparison, Hawaii has the highest satisfaction limit — $202,965.
